Death came to all men, because all sinned

Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned
[Romans 5:12]

Adam was the first man created by God the Father, mentioned in the first book of Bible (Genesis), and bible also says that Adam was the first man to sin. With sin coming to this world, death also came. Hence for everyone in this world who has sinned there is death. Now if we say that, we or anyone who has not sinned, does not have to face death... Then I would say that this is an incorrect statement, as all those born in this world have sinned. There is no human being here who had has born and not sinned. Bible also highlights this in Romans 3:23.. Know about teaching from Romans Road

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"

How all can Satan tempt us? Only 3 ways

For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
[1 John 2:16]

Temptation had been there from the time this world was created till date. We see different forms of temptation even now also but the interesting part of all these temptation is that they all fall under any one of the only possible 3 categories. Its been proved in the Bible at different books that Satan can tempt us or anyone for that case, in one of the 3 possible categories. We are just given one from any of these 3 categories or a combination with a new wrapper, and we think that its a new situation which no one had ever faced.

Lets look at the 3 main category which devil has for us, and from where he pick and adds new wrapper and tempts us..

Sacrifice... Loosing something precious from us

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
[Romans 12:1]

Sacrifice is to loose something that we keep as one of our precious possessions  and no one will ever think of loosing any such ever in life. We keep such thing in the most safest place to keep it away from others who may steal it or destroy it. How do you feel when some one asks for such a possession to be given out. One example is, in our current world we keep money as the most precious possession and we tend to spend that only for us, and when someone comes asking for money we come up with all possible excuses and avoid giving it out. Sacrifice is not just giving out for the sake of giving or to show others, it beneficial if this is our wish from the inmost place in us and with the hope and prayer that it might be useful for others, and over all that should be with the love that you have for others who is going to receive it.

Became One Among Us... to show us the way

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us...
[John 1:14]

Long back I had heard a story of a boy and his friends and this boy was very passionate about these friend. We would be wondering what is so special about this friend. You will understand when you will know that these friends were ANTS. Yes ants were his friends. He had no other friends apart from these ants, also he never played any other games apart from keeping watch on these ants when ever he is free. As soon as he come from school he would go to his behind his house where these ants stayed. One interesting thing he noticed in these ants were that they use to always go in line, and he would map in to the people who would go at all ways never in a line. These ants use to help each other, doesn't matter what they know each other they were all together. One day the boy saw that these ants were moving to a big pool of water. He realized that the ants (his friends) will soon go and die.He wanted to save them but did not knew how he can save them. He started shouting, which did not work.

I Bring you Good News of Great Joy

Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
[Luke 2:10]

The context of this verse is that of the message of the birth of Jesus Christ, conveyed by the angels. Two thing to see in this verse.. first that it was a Good News and second that it was of a Great Joy for All the people. We all can understand what is a good news and the joy that a good news brings to our life. We had been going to churches and listening similar message from our pastors and missionaries about the birth of Jesus every year, and that he came for us.. this is a common context taken up around the Christmas celebration. During all these have you felt any part of the Great Joy that accompanies this Good News. We human being usually feel happy and have joy when we understand the Good News.

We know that the birth of Jesus was a Good News, but have ever understood the relevance of that Good News in our life, if we have not then we will not be able to experience the joy that comes with this news. We have to believe and understand the purpose of Christmas and then help others know the same, so that we all be part of the joy and enjoyment happening around Christmas.

Who knows God?

This is a very important question we should ask to ourselves. Who knows God?

Because if you know who knows God, then its easy to get to that person and him to introduce you to God, and start building a relationship. We had seen this in our daily life also, when we want to approach a person, with whom we would need some favor. If that person is not know to us we find a person close to us who knows him, and then approach him and ask him to get us to the main person whose help we actually require. Once we are introduced to this person. Next time probably someone close to you may approach you to have them introduced to this main person with whom you had recently started building the relationship.

Our christian life is a similar scenario where we have ourselves and God.

Faith is the language of Lord

Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
[Romans 10:17] NIV version

So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself).
[Romans 10:17] Amplified version

Have you ever noticed how does a child communicate with his father. At different stage of his life he has a different way to communicate like when he is a small baby, he would try to communicate with actions, when he grow little big, he would start saying small words especially Dad or Mom. At all these and remaining stages of that child's life he relies on these two individuals in his life who are his parents. He has a faith that when he calls his parents will run to him, or when he needs something he will ask and have the faith that he will get. He wont come and say "Dad, if you feel I am worthy, can I have some food, as i am hungry." No.. I bet no children in their lifetime would have asked such question to their parents, instead they will go and say "Dad I am hungry, and I need food to eat".

Who knows me completely?

I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me..
[John 10:14]

I know that there would had been a situation in life when we would have asked this question to ourselves... Who knows me? Who knows me, this is a important question for us, because of the way we link us to this world and people who stay around us. We value us by the people who knows us. If i have more people knowing me we feel proud.

In this world, we feel we have an existence if we have a value in others eyes. We usually map ourselves and our value based on what others think and talk about us, or who all knows and loves us. There is nothing wrong in this attitude, if we take our life as our life and other people around us as a valuable asset whose views and response can change our attitude. We had been born in this attitude from birth. To a large extent what we see around us make us how we think and act now. During all these times we tend to loose our actual and genuine value, which has to be not seen from the eyes of people around us or our friends, or our families, but from the eyes of the one who had created us.

Law or Love.. Which one to Choose?

You search and investigate and pore over the Scriptures diligently, because you suppose and trust that you have eternal life through them. And these [very Scriptures] testify about Me! And still you are not willing [but refuse] to come to Me, so that you might have life.
[John 5:39-40]

Bible as a book has 2 main divisions, which are the Old Testament and the New Testament. New Testament is with respect to Jesus, his arrival, his mission and the completion of his purpose. Additionally in this section we can also see the mission that Jesus  had is been communicated to the world through his disciples. One of the main thing he taught was LOVE. Jesus Christ coming to this world to save us was because of the LOVE that our Father God had for us, and this is visible in the following very well know bible verse.

Highway of the upright wil avoids evil

The highway of the upright avoids evil...
[Proverbs 16:17]

What is a highway? To us highway is a road that help us travel from cities or states. Basically the highway help us reach from one place to other and that is the main road with much security and facilities than the short side roads. Condition of the roads will be well maintained on a highway. Unless we miss to follow the rules of the highway, there is no chance that we miss the road.

When we go on a highway we tend to have a destination in plan, and in the same way an upright (honest) person when takes a highway with a specific destination to be reached, there are less chance that he will handover to any evil. When we move on a highway, problem may come around us, but what we do is to clear it as soon as possible and be back on our highway to the destination.

Message from our Lord Jesus Christ

Dear All,

Christmas is going to come soon and you all would have by now started planning on how to celebrate this Christmas, which as you all know my birthday. Some of you as you are reading this message would have already started the house cleaning and decorating it and the tree. Some of you also would have already invited guests to home or planned on what to be served to guest who would come to home around the celebration. There would be family gathering at this time, which for some families would be like a big get together to know families and the blessing they all received.

Some of you would have already planned and written down the names of the guest who would be invited to home for the celebration. Along with this you all would also have planned how to and what to serve them. As a fact we only expect our guests, gifts, Santa Clause and the carol team to visit us. We make replica of manger, decorate Christmas tree... all these well planned, which is very good...

Walk with the faith...Your Good Shephard is with you

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
[Psalm 23:4]
Chapter 23 from the book of Psalm, entirely talks about God and his grace, support, protection, and safety around us. Especially the verse in context talk about the presence of God with us in every place we plan to travel, and that he will be our safety and protector. There are two reference that is highlighted here in this verse. These are "valley of shadow of death" and "your rod and your staff". Lets see these two reference in detail to understand the verse in context.

According to the Bible History, two of the most important tools of a Shepherd were the rod and staff. The rod was a stick about a meter long with a knob on one end.

Do you believe in Miracles?

Miracle as defined in the dictionaries is "A surprising and welcome event that is not understood by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine."

If we recollect the miracles performed by our Lord, those were all beyond the understanding of the people at that time. Nobody will have every expected the plain ordinary water to change to wine, making the crowd of 5000+ with 5 loaf of bread and 2 fish. Nobody will ever believe that someone can walk through water and control nature through his words... All these happened not in a span of time, but it was a immediate. This was done by no one else, but by the Lord who made us and given life into us. This is the same Lord who has provided all that we have now. None of those that we claim to posses is ours, but that provided by him to us.

Newsletter - Faith in Tough Times(Dec2012)

[Edition month: Dec2012]

We can see people had been facing trials and temptation from the start of the creation in bible till this time. This could be health issues, financial problems, family issues etc. and as a habit at these time we start feel sad, become angry and disturbed, and some even lose their eagerness to life to the full happily and peacefully. One thing which we see very common at our response at these time is the one whom we call for help. When we face sickness, or come across a bad news, we usually say O God; help us… or Oh God, heal me…  We can usually see only one faithful response which is from no one else but from our heavenly Father. Our Father whom we believe and call had already done what he came for in this world. This includes dying for us to take the punishment from us for our sins.

My brothers and sisters, be very happy when you are tested in different ways. You know that such testing of your faith produces patience.
[James 1:2-3]

There is one more area of this sacrifice which had been made for us, which is mentioned in

Newsletter - Choose Life (Nov2012)

[Edition month: Nov2012 ]

I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live.
[Deuteronomy 30:19]

We always had a plan and expectation of our life and needs from the moment we are born… like what we what to eat, what we should wear, where we should stay, what all we need to posses etc. Let it be kids, adults or elders… This is a fact which we are all aware of knowing or unknowingly.

Deuteronomy 30:19 "I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live."

How to approach our Lord? (Part II)

Dictionary meaning of Mercy is: It is an act of kindness, compassion, or favor. So when the blind men said “Have mercy on us” it’s similar to Matthew 20:20 where its John and James mother asked a favor of Jesus. So the approach way was similar to approach made by mother of Zebedee's sons. Now let’s look at the request that was made by these blind men. They said “Lord, we want you to give us our eyesight back”

[KJV]: “They say unto him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened”

There was no selfishness or self-centeredness in this request. This was requested so that these blind men can see and lead life as a normal individual. There was no wrong intention or wrong motives in their request. The initial response of Lord when these disciples and the blind med approached him was, He said “What do you want?” This is what Lord asks us all every time. He is there to give us and that also without any returns. All that he wants is to ask and that also with a good motive .

How to approach our Lord? (Part I)

Then the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her two sons. She bowed down in front of him to ask him for a favor. "What do you want?" he asked her. She said to him, "Promise that one of my sons will sit at your right and the other at your left in your kingdom." Jesus replied, "You don't realize what you're asking. Can you drink the cup that I'm going to drink?" "We can," they told him.
[Matthew 20:20-22]

This verse highlights the way mother of Zebedee's sons approached and put forward her request to Lord. This same incident is available in Mark 10 within verses 35 onwards. The difference between the same incident recorded by Matthew and Mark is that in book of Matthew as “the mother of Zebedee's sons came to Jesus with her two sons” and in book of Mark as “Then James and John, the sons of Zebedee, came to him". Even though there is a difference of who is actually asking Jesus, but the reason and the request put forward in both these reference is same, they needed a favor from Jesus.

A Lamp that burns and gives light to others

John was a lamp that burned and gave light, and you chose for a time to enjoy his light.
[John 5:35]

A Lamp is known to everyone especially in the interior villages where they cannot imagine a day without a lamp especially in the night times. Even to us in the cities also we have a revised version of lamp which we call as candles. Now a days power cut is a normal scenario, and if its during night times then the first thing we go look for is a candle or lamp if we have one. I remember my parents buying a small lamp model in my childhood. IT was very similar to the one we see in villages. It needed fuel (kerosene) to burn, which we use to fill everyday as we have power cut regularly.

The verse in context also talks about a lamp and the use of it especially the heat (burned) and vision (light) that others around that lamp got. Now based on the above explanations we can highlight few words which are Lamp, Light, Fuel and Night. All these are very common words and we in our daily life either experience or talk about it. Have we ever tried to link all these and understand the deeper knowledge and revelation that these words have in them. Let me try to help you understand as per my knowledge.

Significance of the birth of Baby Jesus

Jesus Christ KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, our Redeemer and Savior who gave us a new life through his sacrifice and made a way to salvation, was born as a normal baby to a very normal family (Joseph the carpenter and his wife Mary).
Birth of Christ as a baby was taken as a very normal news around Joseph and Mary. I assume that it would be very similar to a baby being born for us in our family. We all receive that child with happiness but other take it as another birth of child to the world.

Jesus Christ's Mission

Every person has some mission in his/her life and its good to have a mission in life. If we don't have one now.. make sure we get one soon, else this life will only go in waste. Mission is also part of the profile of any new company or organization, which define why is the group there in existence. Actually any thing existing in this world is with a mission, knowingly or unknowingly.

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
[John 10:10]

Same was the scenario with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He had come to this world, died and risen after 3 days... all these with a very specific mission. It was to save us from the punishment of our sins, and show us the way of salvation, to help us get eternal life.

Prescription for Healthy Spiritual Life..

My son, attend to my words; consent and submit to my sayings. Let them not depart from your sight; keep them in the center of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, healing and health to all their flesh.
[Proverbs 4:20-22]

Prescription for Healthy Spiritual Life..

If we have read this verse clearly, we can say very easily what is it talking about, and what is the prescription for life given by God.. its the "Word of God" itself. If we are well then this will help us maintain that good. If we are not keeping well or sick, then this will help us find the solution to have the life and health in its full. The prescription from God... Word of God.. is the answer to every need of ours.

Love for God is the Beginning of Knowledge

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge..
[Proverbs 1:7]

What is Fear?
The very simple and common interpretation of this verse is that our Lord is very angry if we do wrong, and if we do wrong then he will punish us. So we should fear this Lord. We should live life with this fear always in our mind. A basic and simple question from our normal life... If i ask you to obey and worship me and if you don't, i will harm you and possibly destroy you... What will be your response...there is no doubt that you will look for option to avoid me and possibly never ever even think of meeting or interacting with me. Then how do you expect we human beings to obey and worship our Lord God if we fear him. We as nature only can follow and worship whom we love and who loves us. This is what is meant in this verse under context.

For to You is Born.. A Savior

For to you is born this day in the town of David a Savior, Who is Christ (the Messiah) the Lord!
[Luke 2:11]

The story behind this verse is that, after the birth of baby Jesus, an angel come to the shephard and that angel start telling them the news of the birth of baby Jesus. This verse is what the angel said to the shephards to convey the news. Bible (New Testament) highlights that shepherds were the first who were told about the birth of Jesus. There are two thing that is highlighted in this context along with the verse highlighted in the post. One of it is "Shepherds got the Good News First" and second is "For to You is Born this Day". If we link these words from verse Luke 2:8-11, it can be read as:

Who was Joseph?

There are two individuals in bible who have this name... "Joseph". One in the Old Testament and the next in the New Testament. Both these individuals are well know to those who had ever read or heard from the bible. In this post I will be highlighting more about the Joseph in the New Testament. This is not much preached about in the church sermon or public preachings. The first reference of this person in Bible can be found in Matthew 1:16.

"Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, Who is called the Christ. (the Messiah, the Anointed)"

How powerful is this text "Joseph... of whom was born Jesus".

He who belongs to God hears him...

He who belongs to God hears what God says...
[John 8:47 (NIV)]

This is a very interesting verse, and there are two words in this that took my attention which are "belong" and "hear". I needed to know what does these words have in relation, I believe this will help explains the entire meaning of this verse in context.

"Belong"... this is a very simple English which we use very often in our conversation to highlight what is ours, or to whom does a particular thing links to.... for example.. This pen belongs to me.. or That car belongs to James... When we attach the word "belongs" to any object in picture, it gets a particular value based on to who its linked to... Another example which will help understand this word more clearly is..

Story Behind Song… “Silent Night”

The words of Silent Night were written by a Priest called Fr. Joseph Mohr in Mariapfarr, Austria, in 1816 and the music was added in 1818, by his school teacher friend Franz Xaver Gruber, for the Christmas service at St. Nicholas church in Oberndorf, Austria. Mohr's congregation needed something to sing at midnight mass, so Mohr wrote these modest verses.

Unfortunately, the St. Nicholas' church organ wasn't working and would not be repaired before Christmas. Before Christmas Eve, Mohr brought the words to Gruber and asked him to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for the church service. Gruber was a lay minister and the organist at St. Nicholas. Fr. Mohr asked Franz Gruber to compose the melody with a guitar arrangement.

The teachings of the Lord… restoring soul

The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the [whole] person;
[Psalm 19:7 (AMP)]

Teaching or laws of the Lord is perfect. How many laws had we been part of and how many of those were or are perfect. Can we can what had been mentioned about the teaching or laws of Lord… that it’s PERFECT? Do we know the secret of having a perfect and renewed life...?

If we see following verses closely they teach love, giving, sharing, prayer, bless etc… How good to follow these teaching than to follow the teaching of the world which are hate, take, snatch, curse etc… Perfect things when absorbed will turn us also on the way to being perfect. This practice will help us renew our mind, thought and behavior and align ourselves to the life and way of our savior Lord Jesus.

He Calls His Own.. and they Follow

The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
[John 10:3-4]

When our parents call we respond immediately and reach them if we are far at that moment. If my friends call our for a gathering at home, we make sure to be there at the gathering time. When people who know us call us aloud in the midst of a gathering we usually tend to recognize that voice and will follow to that place. It does not matter where the call is from, if we make to that place or individual... we finally tend to get mingled with them and the their environment. This is very common for us as we know this world and its rules and scenarios.
