Grieve a nature that brings pain and at times, depression or revolt and opposition. We in our life would have grieved many people, either by our thought, words or behavior. We never look back on how they would have felt or how they would response. The base behind all these is our SELF. We are more important than the one who we respond. One and only one reason we grieve other, is to prove we were correct and build a nature of no forgiveness or understanding others. The moment we try to give importance to others and their views, and more specifically put ourselves in their shoe we will understand the impact that Grieve will produce.
Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption
Holy Spirit, one among the trinity, had been there in the world from the start of the creation. We know about him, and how he works. For those who do not know about Holy Spirit, he is one among the trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). From the moment of creation (Book of Genesis) till the second coming (Revelation) we see the presence of Holy Spirit. He is the one who guides us to follow Lord and his teaching. He is the one who guides us when we get stuck in our lives. He is the one who gives motivation. The moment we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, we receive him in us, along with his gifts. How can we grieve him, who is there to help and guide us?
Our nature, our words, our behavior, the way we react to a situation, is some scenarios where we tend to make ourselves and our plans and approach more important above the instructions we get from Holy Spirit. We tend to avoid the Holy Spirit (who guides us based on the word of God), which in turn makes us go against the word of God. Grieving the Holy Spirit is avoiding him and his instruction, and making ourselves smarter over him.
Let’s start giving Holy Spirit more important than what we are in flesh. With him, we get his guidance, his gifts which are there to help us come closer to Lord and his teaching is what Holy Spirit will speak to us. Let’s start giving the priority to Holy Spirit to make his work in us to eventually fulfill the plans of God through this life that we have in us.
Lord is Grace ....
